About Kirkpatrick Estate Winery-KEW
Kirkpatrick Estate Winery is nestled close to where Kirkpatrick families have farmed for 150 years, on the world-renowned Patutahi Plateau, and is one of Gisborne’s terraced vineyards.
KEW, Gisborne’s newest winery label in 2004, was established a year earlier when Simon Kirkpatrick purchased the winery and its quality 5 to 20 year old vines of Merlot, Chardonnay, Malbec, Gewürztraminer and Cabernet Sauvignon.
With the expertise of NZ award-winning winemaker Anita Ewart-Croy, all six KEW wines have already become medal winners (in fact 48 medals to date).
Call in and visit our Cellar Door that has absolutely exquisite views of the Patutahi Plateau and surrounding countryside from the elevated terrace where you can sip on one of the premium KEW wines and relax with a KEW antipasto platter containing olives, freshly made onion marmalade, beetroot chutney, sun dried tomato, chorizo, fruit, dukka and Repongaere olive oil, served with freshly toasted bread.
Or take one of our vineyard tours up to the Top Flat and viewing platform, where you can overlook the fantastic Patutahi Plateau appellation, seeing all the way out to Young Nicks head, where Captain Cook first sighted land of New Zealand.
