Dry Gully, originally know as Golden Beach Orchard lies on outskirts of Alexandra township and on the banks of the Clutha River, this land is historic for its battle against the mining giants in the early 1900’s when the gold mining dredges moved through the area. Golden Beach Orchard was not awarded immunity to the mining however by the time it was settled in the Wardens court the dredge has moved past the property and it was uneconomical to bring it back.. Dry Gully vineyard is planted on an island of un mined land surrounded by the remnants of mining and its tailings. Dry Gully is dedicated to producing quality wines that capture the unmistakable characteristics that only Central Otago and the Dunstan basin can produce.
