Birchwood Lane Vineyard
Birchwood Lane Vineyard in Tamahere, just outside Hamilton, is a partnership of Dr Rainer Eschenbruch and Dr Janis Swan.

The 2 acres of grapes were planted in 1998. There is Pinot Noir (45%), Viognier (45%) and Malbec (10%) and the vineyard is managed following strict organic guidelines.

Wines are made at Vilagrad Wines and marketed under the“Lane’s End” label at local markets.

Production is around 100 cases, varietals of Pinot Noir, Malbec and Viognier.
