Bald Hills Vineyard
In 1996, a thorough search of the Central Otago region for the perfect vineyard site led the Hunt family to purchase a small block of land on Cornish Point Road, Bannockburn.

The 11 hectare Bald Hills Vineyard block is shaped like an arrow head pointing to the North, gently undulating towards the Kawarau River. Soil analyses and profiles reveal diverse layers of material from sandy wind-blown loess to gravelly weathered schist.

Bald Hills Vineyard is comprised of 5 hectares of Pinot Noir, and a little over 1 hectare each of Riesling and Pinot Gris. There are roughly 2000 vines planted per hectare and each vine is individually drip fed. From budburst to harvest, all vineyard work is done by hand.

The Hunt family are committed to making exclusive single vineyard wines, representative of their superb vineyard and climate. Travellers to Central Otago should be certain to make Bald Hills a "must visit" on their wine trail.
