Brunton Road Wines is the creation of Richard and Kirsten Searle, who returned from London in 2002 to live on their 19 hectare vineyard with their young family. Situated on the elevated plains of the Patutahi Plateau, a region blessed with deep soils and a warm climate, the vineyard is currently planted with Merlot, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Viognier and Pinot Gris grapes.
The philosophy behind the Brunton Road label is to produce great single vineyard wines from each of the varietals planted on the vineyard. These wines, reflect the unique full-flavoured and elegant characteristics of the Gisborne fruit.
