Vidal Wines
With almost a hundred years of winemaking experience, Vidal Estate is one of the Hawkes Bay's original boutique wineries. Founded in 1905, the winery occupies a unique position in the centre of Hawkes Bay and in the history of winemaking in the region.
Over time the original stables that once occupied the site were converted into a barrel hall. Since then a cellar shop and New Zealand's first winery restaurant were added. These facilities have recently been modernised while maintaining the historical significance that makes the site so unique.

Vidal has two distinctive ranges. The 'Estate' wines are constantly being developed to provide as much early drinking pleasure as possible while retaining the the ability to cellar well and develop desireable characteristics with time.

The Reserve range of wines are home to our very best fruit from vintages where we believe the wines produced have the character and concentration of flavour to ensure their ability to age and provide exciting and rewarding drinking in the future.

Recently released is Vidal Wine's flagship wine 'Joseph Soler'. This Bordeaux red is Vidal's very best and was named to honour Joseph Soler, one of New Zealand's pioneer award winning winemakers, and Uncle to Anthony Joseph Vidal, founder of Vidal Estate.

Steeped in history, Vidal's Restaurant opened in 1979 and was the first vineyard restaurant in New Zealand. Recently refurbished, the restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience to Hawke's Bay residents and tourists alike.

The menu changes seasonally, offering a vast selection, which is inspired by fresh and local produce.
