Pisa Range Estate Vineyard

Established in 1995 Pisa Range Estate is one of oldest vineyards of the Pisa district – a warm micro-climate of the Cromwell Basin, Central Otago.

The aim is to produce an “Estate” fine wine that expresses the terroir. Sustainable management is an important part of our philosophy and we are Accredited Members of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand.

Since its first release in 2000 Pisa Range Estate continues to receive international recognition for its wines. The most recent - GOLD (Best In Class) 2006 International Wine & Spirit Competition London - awarded to the 2003 Pisa Range Estate "Black Poplar Block" Pinot Noir. The wines can be found at fine dining restaurants throughout New Zealand, Australia, USA and Canada.

The wine is made under contract by Rudi Bauer (regarded as one of New Zealand's leading pinot noir winemakers) at his Cromwell winery. Traditional winemaking methods are practiced with gentle handling of the fruit. The wine is matured in French oak barriques(approx. one third new) for a period of 12-14 months and released approximately 12 months after bottling.
