Hawkhurst Estate's Napier Road Vineyards, are rich in River Silt deposited in times of flood from the Karamu Creek, providing an abundance of natural minerals. The vines thrive without irrigation or artificial fertilisers, producing fruit of intense flavour.
The long, hot, dry, Hawke's Bay summers provide ideal conditions for the production of high quality grapes.
Fruit yeild is generally very low due to vineyard age (14 years) and ground cover crops used to reduce vine vigour and provide a natural eco system for organic grape production. |
