Esk Valley Estate produces hand-crafted wines that are natural expressions of the vineyard sites that they were sourced from - consequently they display the luscious characteristics that have made the Hawke's Bay one of New Zealand's finest winemaking regions!

Conveniently located near Napier Airport, the winery, cellar and famed Terraced Vineyard are nestled in a small picturesque valley that overlooks the South Pacific Ocean.
Winemaker Gordon Russell crafts wines that are food friendly and are designed to age well. He focuses firmly on quality rather than quantity - this results in wines of character and complexity.
Esk Valley produces a Black Label range, which includes Merlot, a Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon blend, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Rose and currently New Zealand's only Verdelho. These are all food friendly wines that capture the best of Hawke's Bay and the varietal itself.
Reserve wines are produced only when vintage conditions provide grapes premium enough for this range, which includes a Chardonnay and a Merlot Cabernet Malbec blend. The latter varietal has consistently featured in the top 10 of Cuisine's red wine tasting - testimony to Gordon's ability to produce consistently outstanding wines.
However of its portfolio, The Terraces is rated as one of New Zealand finest red wines.
As the name suggests, grapes for this wine are sourced from the terraced vineyards at Esk Valley Estate. This extraordinary wine is only produced in outstanding years and is available for sales en primeur only or by exception from Esk Valley's cellar shop. The ultimate red - if you can you should!!
