Greystone Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Classic Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Less overt green grassiness and a broader mid-palate. Ripe gooseberries on the nose, offset by steely minerality on the palate. Hints of broom flower, cut dried grass and limes. Again it has this wonderful stony quality, perfect for a picnic on a hot summer’s day on a North Canterbury river bed.

Wine Notes
Winemaker Notes:
Both Sauvignon Blanc blocks were harvested together in cool conditions at optimum ripeness. Different batches in the vineyard provided a full range of varietal characters. Free Run and Pressings were treated separately before blending for fermentation which was carried out under cool conditions to encourage aromatic development until the wine was dry.
Viticulture Notes:
North-South facing row orientation on wind-blown loess over clay. These flat blocks lie above the Omihi Stream with a vine density of 2500 vines/Ha on VSP two cane trellis.
