Wine Notes
Winemaker Notes:
Fermented in open top stainless steel vats using Burgundy yeast for about 7 days with 4 days of post ferment maceration. This wine was matured for 10 months in 3-4 year old oak barrels with American oak cubes added to provide additional new oak characters. A small amount of Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc was added to increase complexity and complete the palate.
Viticulture Notes:
2007 was an exceptional year for Pinotage in Gisborne. Pinotage grapes for this wine were hand picked from the Parklands vineyard in Patatahi area of Gisborne. The grapes were harvested at 25.6 Brix in excellent condition.
