Neudorf Chardonnay - Moutere 2007
Neal Martin writing in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate described Neudorf Moutere Chardonnay as a “must have” wine. It is selected as one of the New Zealand wines in the British book “1001 Wines to Drink Before You Die.”
We have only 340 cases of this wine available in New Zealand.

Slinky, silky wine. Poised and intelligent. A finely textured entry with toffee, lemons, butter cookies and ripe peaches rolling through the palate and on the nose. The wine has a sense of wholeness, very subtle but intense and directional. Layers of flavours and glimpses of creaminess are held tight by that Neudorf minerality

Wine Notes
Winemaker Notes:
Primary fermentation by indigenous yeast’s occurred spontaneously over a prolonged period. The wine went through a complete malolactic fermentation and stayed on yeast lees, with stirring. It was blended, gently cold stabilised and minimally filtered before bottling. Cellaring – 3-10 years.
Viticulture Notes:
Grapes were hand harvested from the Home Vineyard and Beuke Vineyard across the road. The parcels were picked in excellent condition with a well balanced crop.
Consuming
Cellaring:
A beautiful wine to cellar but I suggest opening a bottle this Christmas to give you a perspective on its development.
Food Match:
Drink with seared scallops dusted with thyme, roast chicken rubbed with olive oil and cooked over whole garlic cloves.
