Kumeu River Chardonnay is drawn from five different vineyard sites in the Kumeu Region. We are particularly careful in selecting only the very best grapes from these vineyards for our Kumeu River label. |

The perfumed aroma is reminiscent of peaches and honey, and on the palate the delicious buttery, mealy, hazelnut flavour is long and lingering. |
| Winemakers Notes |

In 2000 we enjoyed probably the best vintages ever at Kumeu River and this is reflected in this wine's richness, concentration and length. The intensity, depth of flavour and additional complexity are typical of the Chardonnay that we grow in Kumeu. With the influence of barrel fermentation and extended maturation on yeast lees, followed by malo-lactic fermentation to moderate the acidity, the Chardonnay fruit is given every chance to show itself in the best possible fashion. |
