Wine Description
Powerful and concentrated, this wine is deeply coloured, with rich blackcurrant-like, slightly chocolatey flavours, oak complexity and a backbone of firm soft tannins.
Winemakers Notes
Made from grapes grown at our Mere Road Vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels. Cold Maceration prior to fermentation in closed fermenters. Juice racked off the skins four days after ferment started, then fortifield with natural spirits, aged in French Barriques for two years.
Cellaring
Delicious now, it will mature well for many years, acquiring ever-greater mellowness and harmony.

RECOMMENDED: Quite strongly spirituous, this big-hearted fortified has good complexity and a fair whack of oak. It couldn't be called elegant, but it has plenty of broad appeal.
