Jackson Estate Grey Ghost Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Marlborough
Sauvignon Blanc
The Grey Ghost is named for the giant gum tree planted in the Homestead vineyard in 1867 by our great grandmother, Alice Jackson. The wine was handcrafted from specially selected parcels of grapes from the exceptional 2007 vintage. Hand picked and whole bunched pressed, the wine was partially fermented in older French oak barriques and aged for several months on yeast lees before bottling in October 2007. White peach and blackcurrant are infused with gunflint and toast leading to a rich and focussed palate dominated by ripe yellow fruit and mineral wash, all bound by a long and savoury finish. More

Rockburn Gewurztraminer 2006

Central Otago
Gewürztraminer
This Gewurztraminer immediately shows classic aromatics of rose petal and lychee once in the glass, backed by hints of fruity Weissbier. The palate contains full and rich purple fruits spreading across the tongue with oily viscosity, and the long spicy finish matches well with equally spicy South-East Asian dishes. This wine is exotically spiced now and will soften and mellow gracefully over the next four years. More

Villa Maria Private Bin Pinot Gris 2007

Pinot Gris
The 2007 vintage in New Zealand was characterised by warm and dry conditions across most of the country. Marlborough was fine with average temperatures across the region for most of vintage. Hawkes Bay and Gisborne in the north island experienced a cool and annoyingly wet summer, however the sun shone in late January and warm, dry conditions extended right into April. More
