Sparkling

Whether you call it fizz, bubbly or methode champenoise, sparkling wine is one of New Zealand's great successes. It is responsible for 4% of all our wine exports and LIndauer is our single biggest export. And yet the number of these wines being produced is falling. Essentially, the wine is expensive to make and yet most of the demand is centred in the under $15 bracket. This means that it is somewhat difficult to make money with sparkling wine unless you are producing large quantities.

Wine Description
Based around the 1998 vintage. Gentle pressing of hand picked grapes and a long, cool secondary fermentation in our cellars has helped to produce a methode champenoise of elegance and finesse. A 55%/45% Pinot Noir/ Chardonnay blend with a low sugar dosage level has resulted in a very refreshing Fizz
