Kingsland Celebrates Completion of New Cellar

Following an investment in excess of £1m at its Irlam site in 2011, Kingsland Wines and Spirits has announced it has completed the installation of 42 new stainless steel tanks.

The project represented the largest single investment since the management buyout in 2004 and has seen a complete overhaul of its wine cellar. The installation of the new tanks was completed in early 2012 and following that extra investment has been made in a new off loading facility.

Mark Dixon, Manufacturing Director of the Irlam-based independent wine company, commented: “It’s been well planned and excellently managed from start to finish, and we’ve even created a short video of the installation to give people an insight into the scale of the project. It’s a hugely important investment for Kingsland as the new cellar gives us improved operational efficiency, as well as offering customers greater flexibility.”

Key benefits to KWS will include:
• Fully meets best practice for wine storage
• Increased capacity & flexibility
• Reduction in waste & energy usage (lower environmental impact)

This is just the start of more planned improvements to the winery in 2013, as Kingsland positions itself as the UK’s premier bottling facility.
