Australians pay more to drink wine On-Premise

Australians are now paying 13% more on average to drink a bottle of wine in a restaurant than they were two years ago, according to a major new On-Premise research study.

Wine Business Solutions’ “Wine On-Premise Australia 2010” is one of the most comprehensive investigations ever undertaken into On-Premise distribution in Australia.

The report covers

- Who the best distributors are nationally and by state
- The effectiveness or otherwise of the different distribution models
- The most listed wine styles, brands, regions and countries (nationally and by state)
- Prices achieved for “by the bottle” and “by the glass” listings.
- Potential profits for wine business owners
- Opportunities to expand On Premise business.

The report is based on a random sample of nearly 20,000 listings across Australian full service dining establishments. It is the second in the series allowing WBS to benchmark changes in performance since the original study was conducted in 2008.

New to the report this year is a more in-depth look at the performance of wine regions, wine producing states and imported countries.
