Mulyan Wines continue impressive trophy triumph
Cowra’s Mulyan Wines has continued to impress, winning two trophies at the recent Cowra Wine Show. The Mulyan Cowra Viognier 2007 was awarded ‘The Manildra Group Trophy for the Best Viognier of the Show’ as well as the ‘Tony Gray Award for the Best Local White Wine of the Show’.
These trophies have come on the back of other recent awards including ‘Top of Class’ for the Mulyan Cowra Shiraz Viognier 2006 at the 2009 Boutique Wine Awards chaired by Huon Hooke, a Blue Gold award at the 2009 Sydney International Wine Competition and the ‘Cowra Bottle Shop Award for the Best White Wine of the Show’ at the Cowra Regional Wine Awards for the Mulyan Cowra Viognier 2007
“We are extremely excited about these trophies,” commented Mulyan owner Jenni Fagan. “To get consistent results such as these is an encouraging reward for the work that has gone into both the viniculture and the winemaking. It is a reflection of the quality of the wine that Cowra has produced of the past few years.”
The Cowra Wine Show, which was established in 1983, is a well respected, national wine show. The 2009 judging panel included Chief Judge Andrew Spinaze, Lester Jesberg, Tim Knappstein and Steve Goodwin, David Morris and Russell Cody.
Mulyan Wines won a total of eight medals as well as the two trophies at the Cowra Wine Show.
