Treat Your Mum With Allan Scott's New Bubbly April 2008 You really do have a lot to thank your Mum for, so spoil her this Mother’s Day with a glass or two of Allan Scott’s brand new bubbly. The leading family winemaker has just launched 'Cecilia' and it is sure to make New Zealand Mums feel special.
As part of a Mother’s Day promotion, bottles of Cecilia bought in Glengarry stores in the lead up to 11th May will be accompanied by a matching gift box and divine heart-shaped Devonport chocolates.
The bubbly was created and named for Allan Scott’s wife Cathy (Cecilia is her middle name) and is made from a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay grapes in traditional champagne style.
Cathy Scott is something of a champagne connoisseur and, thankfully for her husband, is a big fan of the new Cecilia.
“It was a case of creating something equally good or going broke,” says Allan. “And the wonderful Marlborough terroir allows us to produce excellent quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes that give the wine its structure and flavour,” he adds.
Cecilia joins the family’s diverse range of wines which includes Blanc de Blancs (bubbly), Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Unoaked Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Pinot Noir varietals. Cecilia is currently available at Glengarry stores for $22.90 a bottle.
