2008 Harvest Celebration Dinners- Dining @ Waterfall Bay
April 2008 Nestled amongst native bush overlooking Waterfall Bay in the Marlborough Sounds, Seresin Estate’s occasional restaurant will again welcome guests to share a special evening of fine food and wine to celebrate Marlborough’s 2008 harvest.
Four family owned wineries will mark this years harvest in style with a five course wine and dinner match. Rex Morgan, Head Chef and Owner of Citron Restaurant in Wellington, will prepare a special dinner inspired by wines from boutique Marlborough producers; Clos Henri, Huia, Lawsons Dry Hills and Seresin Estate
Recognised as one of New Zealand’s top chefs, Rex has won all of New Zealand’s major culinary awards, including Chef of the Year. Rex specialises in degustation dinners which are classically inspired and presented with modern interpretation.
"I try to use quality produce as much as possible; my favourite products to use are things in season that are at their peak. I like to layer flavours without confusing things too much and when designing a menu, try to create that special journey”, says Rex.
The Harvest celebration dinners will take place over ANZAC weekend at the Waterfall Bay dining room, restored by Michael Seresin in 1999, and only open to the public a few times a year.
Seresin Estate owner, Michael Seresin, says “in Europe it is tradition to celebrate the abundance of harvest with good food and wine. It also gives wineries a chance to pay tribute to everyone’s hard work.”
Michael Seresin says “this dinner is another way to promote the food and wine available in the region and a chance to work with like minded producers.”
Dinners are April 25th and April 26th
