Wine Description
Vibrant bright straw colour with green hues, this Riesling has a pungent lemon sherbet aroma with underlying mineral characteristics. The palate is generous in it’s intensity of fruit flavour, with lemon and lime and natural Marlborough acidity. The result is a dry Riesling with an intense crisp clean finish.
Winemakers Notes
The grapes were machine harvested, with the juice being separated from the skins on arrival at the winery through a drainer. The skins were then pressed and the resulting free run and pressing juices kept separate. These parcels were then cool fermented in stainless steel using various selected yeast strains to enhance the pungent natural aromas of Riesling. After fermentation the wines were racked off gross lees to produce fresh fruity wines which were then blended for bottling.
Viticulture Notes
Various vineyards were chosen for this blend, each trained to two cane vertical shoot positioning. The majority of this blend comes off river bed rock soils that naturally inhibit the vigour of the vines.

Good pre-vintage weather resulted in healthy bunch counts to bring the crop level inline with average yields. Ideal conditions with mild-warm weather leading up to harvest resulted in optimum ripeness with no disease pressure through to normal picking dates.

Suitable for consumption now through to 2012.
