Colour:
Garnet/ruby.
Nose:
Raspberry and dark cherries, with subtle oak spice. Dense and rich,
yet restrained.
Palate:
Tightly structured with nice sweet fruit on the approach. Soft texture with a pleasant long finish |

The fruit was hand picked and brought to the winery, where it was carefully de-stemmed and then sent to tank. After a 10 day cold soak to capture colour and aromatics, it was inoculated and its fermentation lasted 10 days; during this time it was hand plunged four times a day. Once dry, the wine was pressed off its skins and sent to a selection of French oak barrels (60% new), where it underwent malo lactic fermentation. It spent a total of 15 months in oak before it was fined with egg whites, filtered and then sent to bottle. |

The fruit for this wine was sourced exclusively from Malcolm Adams’ Jones Road block in Marlborough. A model growing season with warm, consistent weather throughout. This allowed the grapes to ripen without any of the usual pressure from seasonal influences. |

| Really sweet fruit aromas are followed through to the palate and indeed the finish. The tannins are as yet dry and slightly green but should balance out in time. |
