Anchorage Pinot Gris 2007 |
| Produced By
Anchorage Wines New Zealand Limited |
| Wine Description |
|
A dry, fruit driven style with subtle clean flavours from selected clones in a young Motueka vineyard near the river mouth have produced an aromatic nose with kosui nashi pear and stone fruit aromas leading to second tier undertones of spice and honey. A touch of spice leads into a honeyed fruit-driven palate with generous mouthfeel and a soft smooth finish. |
| Winemakers Notes |
|
Fruit from selectively harvested clones was hand-picked and combined with fruit from selected machine-harvested blocks, quickly bag-pressed to reduce phenolic compounds and then put through a cool ferment with an aromatic yeast strain. A stop ferment was performed to retain natural residual sugar. Subtle lees integration and blending of clones added another dimension. |
