This deep, rich red wine offers heady aromas of ripe cherries, black currants and smoky oak. Intense, mouth-filling flavours of black currants, cherries and blackberries are wrapped in fine fruit tannins and seductively toasty French oak. A long, smooth, refined finish completes the experience.

The ‘grape-must’ is allowed extended contact with the grape skins to maximize the extraction of flavours and colour. The wine is then matured in predominantly French oak barriques (one quarter new) for ten months, adding a distinctive yet integrated oak character. |
| Viticulture Notes |
|
The grapes for this wine come from a boutique vineyard in Hawkes Bay. The yield per hectare is kept very low and the vines receive extensive care by hand. Pruning, bunch thinning, leaf plucking, bunch selection and picking are all done by hand. |
