Woollaston Estates Nelson Pinot Rose 2005 |
| Produced By
Woollaston Estates |
| Wine Description |
|
Made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown and harvested specifically to produce this wine. A remarkable ‘peach skin’ colour with freshly crushed strawberries on the nose. Strawberry fruit characters and a silky texture on the palate are given definition by the minerality of the finish. |

NZ Home & Entertainment - (Bob Campbell) Delicately spicy Rosé with pretty cream and strawberry flavours. Crisp acidity prevents any suggestion of cloying. | (Yvonne Dudman, Hawke's Bay Today) The first wine that really leapt out of the glass was an amazing rose from Nelson-based Woollaston Estates, who have a winery at Mahana in the Upper Moutere. The 2005 Woollaston Rosé comes from pinot noir purpose-grown for this style and it’s just gorgeous! Bright, coral-pink in colour with curshed strawberries and creaming soda on the nose – and it’s crisp, ripe fruit all the way on the palate. Superb length too, and quite the best rose of the show. Brilliant stuff! | |
