Anchorage Sauvignon Blanc 2006
Produced By Anchorage Wines New Zealand Limited
Wine Description
A clean. fresh wine with capsicum, lime, gooseberry and hints of nectarine aromas, leading into a second more floral tier of wild rose.
Tasting Notes
Well-balanced with a moorish taste, the palate starts with grapefruit and nectarine flavours second nose offers and finishes with a hint of pear skin. A lingering aftertaste of classic gooseberry.
Winemakers Notes
Picked at optimum ripeness in the early hours of the morning, the grapes were trucked to the winery in Marlborough and bag pressed lightly then fermented in stainless steel tanks with an aromatic yeast strain.

Fermenting temperatures were kept low during a prolonged period after which a stop ferment process was used to retain the natural residual sugars. The wine was then racked immediately after ferment to remove gross lees and left to settle and harmonize. Cross flow filtration was performed before bottling.
Viticulture Notes
Single vineyard grapes sourced from near the mouth of the Motueka River have produced a dry style wine with traditional New World sauvignon blanc characters and a good intensity.
