Wine Description
Fruit for the Innovator Rose, came from the Bullrush vineyard in the Hawkes Bay.
Tasting Notes
The Grenache and Syrah vines were grown in the Hawkes Bay region on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The vineyards soils are recognised as red metal loams and consist of distinctively red coloured stones and loam. The vines are trained on a vertical shoot positioning trellis and pruned to 35 buds per vine and shoot thinned in the spring to control cropping levels. The 2004 vintage was a prolific one with an extended ripening period, exhibiting well defined varietal flavours and aromas.
Winemakers Notes
An appealing succulent rose´ with freshness of flavour and aroma of raspberry. The palate folds together strawberry, raspberry, spice and hints of herb to produce a softly textured wine with a hint of residual sugar.
Cellaring
Ideal for immediate consumption or cellar through to 2006.
Food Match
Ideal as a food match with a luncheon platter of market cheese, fresh bread, olives, sausage and fresh pears, preferably served outdoors with friends to enjoy the experience with.
