Ata Rangi Syrah 2002
Produced By Ata Rangi Ltd
Wine Description
Ata Rangi Syrah 2002 is gorgeously fragrant - real vanilla pod pannacotta with brambly blackberry/blueberry fruit, dried rosé-petals and spicy dustings of clove and cracked black pepper. Inky, complex, supple and robust enough to see you through the coldest winter!
Winemakers Notes
Syrah is a New Zealand red with a future. Our cool climate delivers an elegant and peppery style, more akin to Syrah from the Northern Rhone than to the jammy block-busters - more commonly known as Shiraz - from across the Tasman. We close-planted Syrah in our Boundary Road vineyard about four years ago, and have more recently used the variety to replace the last few rows of Cabernet in Olly and Ali's home block. We look forward to these blocks coming into production.
Cellaring
4 to 6 years.
